Introduction to my First Story
If you can’t tell already from my bio, I’m really into making stories and books. Though I haven’t actually gone that far yet, I think Medium is a good place to start.
This is my first kind of blog or “channel” that I’ve ever done. This is where you can find stories, art, and monthly/special updates by me.
So, basically, I’ll be posting new parts of the story every week, probably in chapters. Sometimes, on certain occasions (or when I’m struggling with writer’s block), I’ll post art or an update. So keep a lookout on the weekends, because that’s the time I’ll be ready to publish!
Now, a simple overview. I’m not going to reveal too much about my story, since I don’t want to give away too much. Also, I’m still trying to piece things together and improve in some areas. So, before I start telling you the wrong information about my story, I’m going to talk about the things I’ll keep for sure.
This story is called The Paws of Fate. It’s a book series, so I’m going to start with the first book, Darkness and Light. I started this story sometime around late summer, 2020. Now it’s 2021, and it’s almost been a year. Originally, my story was pretty boring, everything seemed to happen so fast, and it just didn’t feel right.
Well, honestly, the topic was pretty cool, but how I wrote it was the problem. I guess I just wasn’t nearly as good at writing as I am today. So, by studying books from authors such as Roald Dahl and Tui T. Sutherland, I figured out a thing or two about making my stories more intriguing. Right now, I’m literally overflowing with new ideas, but I can only focus on one thing at a time.
My basic plot is about wolves. There are two main packs at first, one believed to be “evil”. They are fighting over food, territory, their own lives… I don’t think there’s anything they’re not fighting about! There’s technically a war going on for the past two years or so, and it’s not good. With the most dangerous cutdown season (the time of year when humans, otherwise known as Uprighters to the wolves, chop down the forests and taigas where the wolves live) in centuries nearing, food becoming scarce, pollution, and some menacing mysteries, can the wolves find a way to coexist?
So that’s my plan for the first “arc” of the series. The second arc will be with different main characters than the first. Here’s an overview for the second arc:
Peace has finally been made between the two packs. They’ve even created a strong alliance with the wolf pack up in the northern mountains. But secrets lurk in the shadows, and just when all the wolves think their lives’ purposes have been fulfilled, more problems start occurring all around. All three wolf packs are reporting strange things happening, and even the tough loners they’ve met along their journey are anxious. Someone is trying to break the wolves’ new connection, but Who? How? and Why?
So, there’s going to be a third arc, but I’ll post more about it once inspiration hits me.
That will be in an update later on.
My next announcement will be the prologue and character list of the story. Just a heads up, but the character info might be a little long…
Anyways, hopefully you all got a nice overview on the story which, by the way, is called truth be told. There are two reasons; one, it’s a neat saying I like the sound of, and two, it makes sense for the mystery.
If you’d like to know more about this book, let me know in the comments.
Bye everyone, see you this weekend!
